Once there was a saint that has taken oath never to look at any woman. His disciples accepted him as “Guruji” (The master) and will follow him where-ever he went.
Once he was travelling with his disciples in a boat in a river. Suddenly they heard a cry for help from the river. Before anyone can understand what is happening, the saint jumped into the river, caught a woman who was shouting for help and started swimming towards the bank of the river. Soon he reached at the bank, lifted the woman and deposited her there. By that time, their boat also reached there. The disciples helped in reviving the woman. Afterwards they continued their journey.
After quite some time, one of the disciples could not resist and told – “Guruji – You have taken oath never to look at any woman, and still you carried that beautiful woman with very sparse clothes in the river. You should have asked our help and any one of us would have done that. You should not have broken your lifelong oath for that”
The saint replied – “My son, I carried that woman only to the bank of the river, but you are still carrying her with you”
What are the past burdens that we carry with us !!
